Jan's Grain
2019-08-30 · 49 min · Not rated
The film follows the story of an older man who is dissatisfied with the current state of the country. Despite his lack of knowledge and muddled ideologies, he decides to run for president and hires a group of young filmmakers to produce a promotional clip for him. As they begin working together, the filmmakers notice his contradictory thinking, xenophobic views, and an affinity for socialist and fascist regimes. Deciding to document his journey toward the presidential palace, they start meeting with Ján Schwarz more frequently—all the while recording him without his knowledge. The film portrays a frustrated individual of our time, whose bitterness gradually narrows his worldview, transforming it from an expansive perspective into a very restricted one.
